Samsung has started mass production of its PM9E1 NVMe Gen 5 SSD, featuring:

  • 5nm controller with eighth-generation V-NAND technology
  • Sequential read/write speeds up to 14.5GB/s and 13GB/s respectively
  • Capacity options from 512GB to 4TB
  • Over 50% improvement in energy efficiency
  • Enhanced security with SPDM v1.2 specification

The PM9E1 is designed for data-intensive AI applications, offering faster data transfer and improved performance for on-device AI computing. Samsung plans to expand its SSD offerings to global PC manufacturers and launch PCIe 5.0-based consumer products in the future.
